Membership Options

1)  I am a Holistic Provider....  should I sign up for WLG Provider Directory Membership or the Social Network Membership?

You can sign up for either or both.  In fact, we encourage all our paid WLG Provider Members to also become members of the free Social Network to connect with others in the Social Network holistic community. The only thing we ask is that Provider Members not use their Social Network membership as a marketing tool. Please market your business, events, products or services only through your Provider Membership using your Provider Profile and the unlimited number of Events you can post on the Events Calendar. Additional advertising opportunities are available. Learn about the additional advertising options

2)  I am not a Holistic Provider, but am interested in connecting with people interested in the mind/body/spirit connection as well as having the opportunity to meet and learn about alternative holistic modalities.

We suggest you become a member of our FREE Social Network.  Sign up for our e-newsletter, meetup or become a fan on facebook and you are automatically a Social Network Member and can connect and engage with others.  Plus, as a Social Network member, you are entitled to WLG Provider Discounts!


Cancellation / Refund Policy for Provider Directory Membership:

For Free Trial-Period Members:  new members who sign-up under the 2-month free trial membership may cancel any time prior to the END of the 2-month trial period and NOT be charged. To cancel, email info@wholisticlivingguide.com or call 302-376-7455.

For Existing Members: Month-to-Month subscribers can opt to unsubscribe at any time; however, no pro-rated refunds will be provided.  Providers need to contact WLG Administration at 302-376-7455 or info@wholisticlivingguide.com at least 2 business days notification prior to the date of the scheduled recurring transaction to ensure payment is stopped prior to the next charge.  If the payment is already charged when WLG is notified, the next payment will be canceled and the Provider's profile will remain active for the duration of that billing period.

Annual subscribers are eligible for a full refund of their annual membership fee as long as they contact WLG Administration by email or phone within 45 days of the charge being processed.  If a request is made after the 45 days, the Provider's membership will not renew the following year and no refund will be provided.


System Functionality Questions for WLG Providers:

1) As a Holistic Provider joining the WLG Provider Directory, should I put my personal name or my business name as the primary name next to my profile picture?  How do I add my picture or logo?

Whatever name you put in the "Full Name" field when you first signed up is what will show up next to your icon on your profile page. If you would like to change your name so another name appears next to your icon on the profile page, follow the following instructions:

1) Log into your Provider Directory with user name & password

2) Click on the tab that says "My Profile"

3) Click on the "Edit" button on the right in the blue Profile Information bar

4) A page called "My Settings" will appear.  Here you can upload a picture of yourself or your business logo (must be in JPG, TIFF or GIFF format). Under the "Profile" section is "Full Name."  Put your desired business or personal name in that text box.

5) Scroll down and click "Save"


2) Why don't I see the changes I just made?
It takes the system 24 hours to accept certain changes to your account. This is especially true of the search feature. If your changes don't seem to show up. All is well. Just check back the next day. 


3) Where did the "My Provider Page", "Invite Friends" tab and "Provider Forum" tab go?
These tab only show up when you are signed in as a provider. Check to make sure you are signed in.  If you are signed-in, you will see your user name and the words "Sign Out" at the top of the window in the black stripe towards the right of the screen.  If you do not see this, go to Home and click the "Sign In" box in the upper right hand corner of the page.

 

4) How do I add an event to the WLG Events Calendar?

1) Log into your WLG Provider Directory Profile by clicking on the "Sign In" box on the WLG Home page, or clicking on the link below
2) Go to the "Events" Tab
3) Click on the "Add" button at the top right hand corner (above the 5 Featured Events)
4) Complete the data fields as instructed.  [We encourage you to include details such as price, location, a detailed event description, and how folks can register or contact you for more information.   Please note that setting up a recurring event is not possible on this system.  It will have to be manually entered for each date.]
5) Scroll down and click the "Add Event" button.  Your event will be posted to the WLG Events calendar immediately for public viewing.

 

5) Can I add a recurring event to the WLG Events Calendar?

No.  The platform cannot accommodate this type of event.  If you have a recurring event (ie. weekly, monthly, etc), then you will need to add an event for each occurrence.  WLG reserves the right to decline or modify any submitted events according to this policy.


6) How do I EDIT an EXISTING event on the WLG Events Calendar?

1) Log into your WLG Provider Directory Profile by clicking on the "Sign In" box on the WLG Home page, or clicking on the link below
2) Go to the "Events" Tab
3) Scroll down to where it says "UPCOMING EVENTS."  Find the "EMPTY" search box directly under the "UPCOMING EVENTS."  Put your cursor in the empty SEARCH box & type in the name of your event.   Click on the "magnifying glass" icon to the right of the box to search for the event.   [Another option to find your event is to click on the tab called "MY PROFILE."  Scroll down and look on the left side of the screen where it says "MY EVENTS."  These are all the future events that you have posted.]
4. Once you have found your event, click on it to open it up to see the logistics & details. 
5.  Once the event is "open," click on the button on the right hand side that says "OPTIONS," then click "EDIT EVENT"
6.  Make your edits then scroll down and click "SAVE"


 

Policy Questions for WLG Providers: 

1) E-mail Distribution Lists:  Can I collect the email addresses from other Providers and Social Network members for my email distribution list?

No.  It is our policy that you must have verbal or written consent from a provider or social network member in order to add them to your email distribution list.  Failure to adhere to this policy will result in the termination of your provider membership without refund.
 
WLG does not support actions that force creating connections where none exist such as harvesting email addresses.  The intent of the Wholistic Living Guide is to build connections and create collaboration.  We encourage all of you to reach out and introduce yourselves to other providers and create connections and discuss opportunities to collaborate.
 
Note:  According to the Federal Trade Commissions CAN-SPAM Act, there may be financial penalties to businesses who do not provide an option for folks to “UNSUBSCRIBE” in order to stop receiving email.  For federal regulations and penalty implications, go to http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus61-can-spam-act-compliance-guide-businesshttp://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus61-can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business.  Finally, we recommend the use of an email management service which can empower you to grow your business while obliging Federal laws.  Constant Contact is a popular paid service.  A free email service is Mail Chimp.  For more information on Mail Chimp, go to the “Support in Growing Your Business” section on the Provider Forum page after you have logged into your account.

 

2)  What are the legal copyright requirements for me to upload pictures or media files to my profile or events page?

When you become a WLG Provider member, you must agree to the Terms of Service, one of which states that "you agree that you will not post, email or make available any content or use this Network in a manner that infringes, violates or misappropriates any third party's intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights or contractual rights."  [See Terms of Service]

To help assure that we are all mindfully aware of not violating copyright laws and uploading pictures or any type of media that is not under COPYRIGHT protection, we recommend your following the following guidelines:

Only upload and post.....

1) pictures or any media where you have purchased the licensing fee for utilization; or

2) pictures/media you have created yourself; or

3) pictures/media where you have been grated PERMISSION to use on a social network site, such as WLG

When you submit events for posting on the WLG calendar, or upload pictures or videos to your profile, or any other page on the WLG site, you are agreeing to these terms.  For a helpful resource on the interpretation of the law and your rights, please see http://www.keytlaw.com/.

To help raise awareness on this matter and clarify this understanding, the below addendum is included with the Terms of Service:

As a Wholistic Living Guide (WLG) Provider member on this site, you agree to these covenants that you will not upload content to which you do not have a license to upload and that you will indemnify WLG as a provider harmless of any breach of this covenant.  In order to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) safe harbor Title 17 United States Code, Section 512(c)(1), upon being notified of a copyright infringement, WLG will take appropriate action after receiving notice of copyright infringement from a copyright owner.  WLG will expeditiously remove or disable access to said material upon obtaining such knowledge or awareness of the infringing material.  WLG will notify the user that the material posted was removed due to a claim of infringement.
